CURRENT OBSESSION SAILBOAT & CREW GRAPHICS
Gary Mozer, Los Angeles CA

For several years, I designed corporate communications for George Smith Partners, a real estate investment banking firm in Los Angeles. Gary Mozer, a principal of the firm, was an avid collector of fine watches. When his passions turned to sailboat racing, he aptly named his new J/Boat "Current Obsession."  And that made designing the boat's logo easy. Surrounded by liquid letterforms, the focus is on the O... a big blazing sun crossed with a wild whirlpool. Gary eventually went on to other boats ~ "Current Obsession 2" and "Sudden Impulse," for which I adapted the original logo.

GROW WITH US! HORTICULTURAL FESTIVAL
Tallman Hotel, Upper Lake CA

Living in Upper Lake at the time, my husband and I loved the beauty and charm of this rural area of Northern California. The Tallman Hotel owned the big old red barn in town and hosted this event there to promote the growers and artists of this fertile region, with a farmer's market style offering of fresh produce, plants, and crafts.

WEB & PRINT PROMOTIONS
Mar Mel Inn, Long Beach CA

When John Sanders asked me to design a website for his pet-boarding business, my first task was to create some elements that were not yet established ~ namely a logo. This started with a simple rendition of the existing plaque on the front of the building. And then one day, on a stationery bike no less, I was brainstorming ideas and repeating the name "Mar Mel Inn" to the  rotations of the wheel ... and Marmelade evolved. It was obvious that Marmelade should be an Old English Sheepdog and she should become the mascot of the Mar Mel Inn. She is not a talking dog, however she is quite clever, delivering her messages through "sign" language. She can be found on the website, postcards, and in numerous ads place in local news publications.

FOREIGN SERVICE INSTITUTE LANGUAGE COURSES
Internet Language Corporation, Los Angeles CA

This packaging series for the FSI Language Courses included discs and a handbook in a vinyl binder. The images were chosen for having a circular element, relating back to the disc. I adapted the design for both CD and DVD versions.
